As a matter of fact, in the year 1812, the Luddites held "King Ludd" as their mythical leader. Furthermore, the name "Ned Ludd" remains prevalent in all announcements, warnings, as well as death-threats delivered to industrial mills during England's ground-breaking revolution. Most importantly, in the song, Chumbawamba refers to Ned Ludd as "General Ludd".
